Devon Eco Holidays is a luxury holiday cottage and farmstead set in 30 acres of
Windhager - Carbon neutral heating solutions
The primary objective in all Windhager installations is to provide the end user with a reliable, efficient boiler system to supply heating and hot water, the Devon Eco Holidays project required that the boiler system supplied both buildings, but without using fossil fuels such as oil or L.P.G.
The solution was to supply the cottage and main house with heat generated by an HMX wood gasification boiler and accumulator tanks with a BioWIN automatic wood pellet boiler as backup. The integration of two, or more, Windhager boilers is possible through the MES control system and the modular distribution components. The BioWIN is a fully automatic boiler and guarantees that heat can be generated for the guests, even if no one is available to fire the log boiler. Combining a log boiler and a pellet boiler provides the security of a fully automatic pellet fired boiler whilst at the same time they can harness the supply of fuel provided by their own land, which is truly carbon neutral. The property is 94% thermally efficient and has a carbon output of 0.44 Tonnes per year thanks to the well thought out design and specification which included the Windhager equipment and wealth of experience in providing carbon neutral heating solutions.
