Over 100 people attended the grand opening in July of Windhager UK’s prestigious new headquarters in Marshfield, Gloucestershire, which boasts the largest dedicated biomass training centre in the UK.

With key speeches from the three directors of Windhager UK, plus one from the managing director of Windhager Austria, specifiers, installers, press and public captured the story of the determination that has led to its growth and success.

On opening the new company premises, Windhager UK managing director Oliver Duckworth said, “The renewable industry has bucked the current economic trend and our growth over the seven years since we started the company has enabled us to make this significant investment in new facilities and training centre”. He continued “We are firmly of the belief that quality training of installers will drive the future growth of the biomass market.”

As one of the leaders in biomass heating, Windhager UK has seen a steady increase in demand for its green technology and had quickly outgrown its previous premises in Chippenham.

At 1500m2 Windhager's new headquarters features reception, showrooms, a training centre, a conference room and high capacity warehousing all on the ground floor, with extensive office space on the first floor for the technical support teams, design office, plus sales and administration.

Windhager UK is an approved HETAS training centre complete with a line-up of fully functional models from the Windhager biomass range featuring LogWIN, the split log boiler, plus all the wood pellet boilers available namely BioWIN, VarioWIN and FireWIN. The company’s hot water accumulator AccuWIN, its pellet hoppers and suction systems as well as its solar thermal range and controls are also in operation in the training centre.

As might be expected, Windhager’s new premises are heated by its own technology with two 60kW BioWIN Excel wood pellet boilers operating in cascade to provide modulated output between 18kW and 120kW.

Open to customers and industry professionals alike, Windhager’s new showroom and training centre is easily accessible from the M4, either junction 17 or 18. Training is an essential part of ensuring that installers, specifiers and consumers are fully confident with biomass technology. Training courses provided include a product overview; wood pellet boilers; log gasification; and controls. HETAS approved courses for heating engineers include dry systems; wet systems; biomass; and pre-fabricated flue systems.
