Man reading a bible in the orchard of Crawley Down Monastery

At the peaceful Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Crawley Down, caring for the environment goes hand in hand with caring for the community. To support this mission, the monastery turned to Windhager to install a Windhager 60kW BioWIN Excel wood pellet boiler, bringing eco-friendly heating to their community building and surrounding properties.

The system, supported by solar thermal panels and two discreet external pellet stores, provides reliable heat and hot water year-round with minimal maintenance and maximum efficiency. Thanks to the system’s smart controls and its sustainable design, the monks now enjoy a quieter, greener way to heat their space — reflecting their values of stewardship and simplicity.
